Baby quilt for my 4th granddaughter. Design came from 2 different fish quilts I found online. I used blues b/c her room is painted a light/medium teal that changes hues as the sun light moves through the day. Some of the fabric patterns mimic water. The border is scraps of the fish fabrics that follow the fish from light to dark around the quilt. Quilting was done in waves to represent water.

Bella's Quilt

When my son married his wife, she came with a 6 y/o daughter from a previous marriage. This precious jewel became my first granddaughter. She requested a "light green" quilt. I found the perfect fabric to tie in the light green with several other colors. The fabrics almost all have a dot design for continuity, as well. I love the prairie points which dress up the simple design. Also made a matching pillow. She says she's still using it today at age 13! Quilted on my domestic machine.

Tree Lot

I saw this Daniela Stout pattern and example quilt at the San Diego Quilt Show in 2012and fell in love. Batiks! I got Robert Kaufman's Cornucopia 2 jelly roll for the trees, Cornucopia 2 Autumn for the backing and Makower UK Essentials White for the background. Fast forward two years and my cousin is getting married. They are from Missouri where trees and snow are a thing. They live in CA so a lap quilt would be perfect and fit in my novice wheelhouse. Daniela was incredibly helpful with the tree top block since the first time out I cut off the points by mistake. All quilting is trial and error. :) I pieced it and fretted. A wedding gift is a heady thing so I decided to have Missouri Star Quilt Company (LOVE them) do the machine quilting. The job they did with the snowflake pattern was amazing. I created a lovely label by printing a fabric background with lettering in a box in the center and sent it off with some $$ in case they really weren't quilt people. ;) Needless to say, I heard back today and they LOVE it. I am so gratified and stoked to keep on what has become an incredible journey. I love piecing and learned so much. Next up will be my first attempt at machine quilting myself.

Juliette's Quilt

Baby quilt I made in 2010 for my 2nd granddaughter, it was my most difficult project to date. My son chose the pattern and his wife asked for the lavender. I cut the pattern down to baby size and kept where the flower invades the border on the right side. You can't see it, but the large plain square has her name quilted in script. This is the only quilt I have had professionally quilted. I have done all the others myself.
