Simple Hearts and added Applique

I was looking for a pattern to use to make a youth-sized quilt for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's fundraiser, to be held in just two weeks. With only one week to make and finish the quilt, I needed something either repetitive or pretty straightforward. When I saw this pattern, I knew it was what I was looking for...Allison of Cluck Cluck sew designed the pattern "Simple Hearts" and I then modified it with colorful borders around each heart, and in the end I placed another border around the outer edge of the quilt, adding applique hearts for interest.

Two Step

I made a Hidden 9 Patch for my oldest granddaughters graduation last year of her school colors and musical notes fabric. This year I am making the Two Step for my 2nd granddaughters graduation it is in school colors and pumpkin pie jelly roll and gold and burgundy charm packs, Moda fabrics! It is just the quilt top so far, but I am going to quilt after a little more practice on my Brother Dream Fabric Frame and the Brother Dream Quliter 15.
